In 1976, the Sutton’s business began as a farm stand. We thought that it would be a great asset to our business and wanted to go back to our roots! The Sutton’s Farm Stand opened this past June and will be open until October 2015.
We have partnered up with Fresh Take Farm out of Middle Granville to supply most of our produce. They are a young farm with high education and skill in organic farming. They supply us with all the seasonal veggies one could want — potatoes, beets, carrots, fresh salad mix and kale, cucumbers and much more. We also work with Hand Melon Farm from Greenwich, New York. They provide us with corn, their famous melon and seasonal fruit. (Their blueberries are amazing!)
In the late summer and early fall we work with Kliens Kill Farm, who supplies us with the best peaches around and a variety of apples.
The response has been terrific and with each season we hope to grow (no pun intended)!
Read about our Farm Stand in the Post-Star — ““With the local food movement growing in this area, we decided we want to be a part of it, and just to have something fun for people to do while they’re here,” says our Jane Sutton.
